Once a neighborhood grocery, and once home to the beloved Cosmos, State Street Pub has lived more lives than most venues ever dream of. State Street Pub, as we know it today, was opened in 2015 by local music aficionado and legend Jimmy Peoni. In 2023, longtime manager Mark Tester took over ownership of the pub, carrying forward SSP’s long-running legacy as a haven for the weird, loud and underground. It remains the stomping grounds for countless local bands and performers. Inside, experimental noise nights collide with cathartic rock n roll sounds (and so much more), backed by incredible food and an engaging, supportive and safe atmosphere. SSP isn’t just a bar, it’s a cultural hub of the Circle City.. a launchpad and a magnet for Indy’s emerging and established artists. Still evolving, still loud, still entirely itself.
